I agree with that. Indeed, a translator based on fuzzy pattern matching 
data identification can handle any structured format that I have 
encountered. Construction of EDI is a little more difficult because you 
need to validate the syntax of the result, and this is structure 
specific.

  "it is impossible for human beings to model the same reality in the 
same data model." That statement is one I shall commit to memory, 
because it is a pithy summary of the real difficulty in implementing 
EDI. Once again I agree with you completely.
