true. but you have to build everything yourself. if you don't have a good consultant who knows what's required and how to built it, you're toast. and edi translation system with validation and 997 is useless. i would also contend that any edi package not offering validation and 997 OUT OF THE BOX is also useless, because it forces the user to build standard functionality and runs the risk of the custom code being wrong. there's a reason that people SHOULD NOT build their own translators. many of the name products have been around for 10 or more years and are extremely mature. do you really want to have to do the coding to validate each element ... loop integrity ... versions ... e.t.c.? there isn't enough liability insurance in the world to get most people to do it.
