I've been using JMP 3.2:
Pro:
- fast
- handles database 250,000 records and 29 variables no trouble
(this is not the upper limit, that's what I'm currently working on)
- good graph displays
- comprehensive procedures, wide range introductory to advanced
- smooth user-interface Mac-like
- export-import foreign formats limited.
Con:
- export-import foreign formats limited (e.g. if your data is
Access or Excel, you'd have to export from Access or Excel as
Ascii text and read from Jmp).
- smooth user-interface Mac-like.
Subjective summary: very satisfying to use.
Note the 2 "features" considered as both pro and con -
depending how you look at it - first reaction when you compare
feature by feature the lack of import-export capability seems
disadvantageous, but at use, I'd choose without hesitation the
faster one - and I believe JMP 3.2 is among the fastest to
read an Ascii file ).
