Yes, it is always a problem when people do not communicate ;)  First, let me say that my email should be taken as only an attempt to explain some things and not in any way as an attack.

For me, the work I was doing was with the intent to fix bugs.  First with icalsrv, which I believe was before the announcement, and then with ldap accounts.  I only worked on the admin and setup there.  The changes in admin, although they look only like moving things around from ui to bo, actually helped in my case for ldap account management.  There was also a problem in setup.  In both cases, the majority of the problem was with the memberuid attribute on the creation of a new group.

Since Ralf was on vacation, I was surprised to see his commits, but they at least looked like bug fixes.

So, can you be more specific about the problems you see?

Finally, I guess there is no way to use addressbook via xml-rpc anymore.  I started looking at creating a class.boaddressbook.inc.php as a wrapper, but that does seem a bit odd if there is a release coming.  Anyway, having that broken does not help at all for things like Kontact, who have been using this feature for some time using calls to boaddressbook.

Hello!

I was ill the last week, mostly recovering now. I still feel sick. After read my emails i got very frustrated.

I had spent very much time, getting 1.4 stable. One week ago i announced a feature freeze, to get 1.4 really stable in a reasonable timeframe. One day after the feature freeze got announced, Ralf commited something new. I sent him a SMS to is mobile phone(he is not in germany currently), but i did not receive any response.

While cleaning up my emails from the last week, i discovered that yet more new features got commited. And we also got the first report, that something is broken now, what was working before.

If we continue to work this way, we will never ever get 1.4 out of the door.

I'm very frustrated now!!! I'm doing the very, very boring task of trying to create a stable release, which can be called stable. And it is very frustrating when my work get dumped in the trashcan.
