We are currently developing a EJB based system that needs a scheduler, too.
We decided to use a different task on the same (or different) machine
because we found no clean way to do it with EJB.
If I got you right you've chosen to use EJB with no other reason than to
find a solution for the scheduling problem. In my eyes this is the
perfectly wrong way.
