The J2EE Connector architecture is the standard way of achieving what you want
to do. There are no implementations of that which work with CICS at present.
However the connector support in IBM VisualAge is a proprietary precursor to it.
That is the vendor product I'd recommend at present.

You will not have to use proprietary interfaces for transaction coordination.
When it all comes together container managed transactions will automatically
manage the transactions of CICS. Today the best you'll get is the VisualAge
capabilities referred to above.
