Apparently Stan and I were similarly confused. In the Rev. G manual, "Install C6 (4.7 pF) into the outer two holes of this set of 3 pads (of J15)" could be interpreted as the two adjacent pins closest to the left edge of the board, if you're looking at it from the normal operating position. In this case, "outer" is relative to, say, the center of the board. It could also be interpreted as relative to the middle pin of the 3-pin group. The problem is "outer" is a relative term, and the reference isn't clearly defined. The clause "of the 3 pads (of J15)" clearly tells you what pin grouping we're dealing with, but still lacks the critical reference for "outer." Possible alternatives: "Install C6 (4.7 pF) into pins 1 and 3 of the 3-pin pad J15" (assuming silkscreen, pin numbers, etc. won't change in the future) "Install C6 (4.7 pF) into the outer two holes (relative to the middle pin of the group) of the 3-pad group J15" I'm not sure it's worth redoing the printed manual -- as there's now some good documentation on the reflector -- but maybe just keep the existing manual (or fixing the online copy only), and do it with an errata sheet for existing print copies. --Andrew, NV1B ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
