Barry -
The interference may be coming from the LCD.  Can you reduce the brightness of 
the display?
Also check the power supply - try putting beads on the leads.  It could be a 
noisy switching supply.

If, as Jeff suggested, it's Ethernet noise, you could use a USB wireless 
adapter if the laptop does not already have a wireless network feature.
