Hi Pete, Yamaha will replace your headphones if they are within the one year warranty period. It will not be necessary to return the defective headset. You would just have to e-mail or fax a copy of your receipt. The customer service phone number is: 714-522-9000 (PST). If it is past warranty it might be helpful to speak to them anyway.
I had a head band failure and received a replacement. For those with Heil headsets, I sold my Proset K2 (originally purchased from Elecraft) on eBay. I listed it starting at $1 and had quite a few bidders before it concluded at $106 plus shipping. 73, Mike K2MK Pete Smith N4ZR wrote > > My one-and only problem with my CM-500 is that after a couple of months, > the 1/8" stereo plug on the headphones became intermittent on one side. > I cut off the existing plug and tried to solder on a 1/4" stereo plug. > It wasn't easy. > > The problem is that each side of the cable contains two conductors > (stereo, right?)
