Heh! Even though I don't do much QRP operating, I've kept an eye on the goings on in QRP land because once in a while I like to build something and there is really some innovation happening in that facet of amateur radio. Without the QRP facet Elecraft probably does not exist or at least as we know it. Anyway, I recall seeing the early ads and reviews for the K2, K1 and onward. At first I probably discounted the K3 by thinking it was out of my price class but in late 2009 I spent some time eavesdropping on the bands and heard a lot of praise heaped on the K3 and then evaluated my finances and put a plan in place. By that time I was well aware of Elecraft from various sources including demonstrations by Jim, W0Eb, et. al. at hamfests, but still sought to learn more, joined this list about two years ago, and pulled the trigger in October 2010. > Some of us ARE a bit slow on the uptake mate.
