Bill,

Add the K3 Util to the exceptions/allowed list in your AV program.  You can
try Microsoft Security Essentials which is a free MS program which does very
well.  This is a problem that should not be.  What is you AV program?

Just a shot in the dark........... A security program that I have does a
sweep and cleans all the temp and history files. It also dumps cookies. 
It works very well - EXCEPT - I must reinstall the K3 EZ after every use.
