UPDATE The good news is that it is now working and I was able to upgrade to 4.51 from 4.36 (it's been a while).
The bad news is that I have no idea how it got fixed. I suspect it was due to unscrewing, unseating and reseating and securing the DB9 as that was the last thing I tried. I had done this before with no joy but who knows what fixed it. Another amazing thing, I got an email from K6IA at customer support despite not having contacted them yet! Unbelievable customer support!!
