Joe, Yes, removal of ALL the chords and /or power supplies is a good way.
I guess I was thinking of an easy way to 'Lock' the station without removing hardware for when I was not in front of the station but not heading off on a shopping expedition or similar time away from the K-Line. Your spot on with the risk of a FW lockout becoming an issue if some critical step were to be forgotten. The KX3 uses a 2 button Hold for On/Off, I was imagining that a 4 button sequence (built around numbers?) would be effective but I do see the drawbacks as you mentioned. Still, a healthy discussion and a few moments contemplation might be beneficial? Certainly any 'added' FW modification needs to be placed in order with respect to 'other' unfinished work..:-) Regards, Gary On 1 February 2013 12:00, Joe Subich, W4TV <[email protected]> wrote: > > > Again I understand that this would not be for everyone, but I see a >> use for the feature which of course should be 'optional'. >> > > The problem with "optional" features is that they take development > time for the benefit of a very small number of users and get in the > way of larger projects that benefit the larger group.
