Rather than reach back there all the time, I bought a 3.5 mm extension cable at a local *Mart and leave it plugged in permanently with the female end laying under the K3 in easy reach. When I use the headset I plug it into the cable and then set the mic input to the rear panel jack. For headphones I use the adapter that came with the CM-500 and use the front panel headphone jack.
