In tracking mode, if you set the span to 5 kHz and adjust the CENTER control until the VFO A cursor is right at the left edge of the screen, then it will display from the VFO frequency to 5 kHz above it. As you tune the VFO you will always see 5 kHz just above the VFO frequency.
