10 meters is a great band! It's very quiet, generally, which bodes well for QRP during band openings. I once worked Argentina from Pennsylvania on 10 CW running 200 milliwatts to 10' of wire tossed out a second-floor window.

When the band is open, there's generally some CW activity from 28.000-28.060 and SSB from 28.300 to 28.500. Of course it moves well beyond this when it's *really* open or if there's a contest. Also, when six meters is open, you'll hear some coordination activity on 28.800.

The Ten-Ten group's web site (http://www.ten-ten.org/) is a great starting point. They list daily nets, contests (four per year) and other operating activities. There's also a database of 10-10 numbers. Mine is 5032 :)
