One of the things many of us have that some do not, is a high speed connection; to those that are bound to a phone line and modem, wasting time just for downloading SPAM is irritating enough. Add to that the rest of the reasons why SPAM is illegal, and you have more irritation that those who have a high bandwidth connection.

While an IMAP account might be better than the old POP3 in this respect, most ISPs that offer modem lines do not offer pop3, leaving the folks on low bandwidth connections trapped into wasting time downloading stuff they are uninterested in rather than just the headers and making "delete" decisions at that point.

Perhaps we can accept this irritation as "reasonable" for some people to feel? I do...
