For several years beginning around 2010, I had reasonable success selling stuff for the widow of a local ham, for a neighbor ham who moved to a sailboat, and for myself. A lot of it on eham, some to members of local clubs, some at that Si Valley swap. The only issue was something dumb by the dumb admin of eham, don't recall details.
When doing biz with a stranger, whether an individual or a company, whether online or in a swap meet (what we called hamfests east of the Rockies), it's always important to keep one's BS filter and scam filter firmly in place. So far, I have yet to be burned.
