No - it does not spontaneously go into transmit more. The problem is that on the non-Elecraft radio, placing the KPA into transmit mode (with a button push on the KPA) drops the non-Elecraft radio’s receive signal tremendously. See Jack’s explanation in an earlier post on what the K3 is doing to the “system” when it is powered off.
