Bzzt, I think it'd be better if this were implemented with the Line In
having priority.  The computer knows how to be quiet better than my
scratchy throat does.

   and the microphone connected to one of the microphone inputs.

   One could be tricky and allow the DSP choose which input to use:

           Is the input from the microphone higher than
           the VOX threshold then use the microphone signal,

           otherwise use the line in audio, if it is exceeding
           the  VOX threshold.

   Or something like that...
