Good Evening,
The snow has almost gone away. The rains are helping the last few inches
melt today. This may mean it will get warmer. I hope so it has been a long
winter and I am ready for a change. I did have a chance to try the bands this
week. Twenty, forty, and eighty meters worked, more or less. There was a high
noise floor which I think was caused by the solar ejection. One contact on
eighty was nice; I worked an op in Sacremento. On twenty I was just able to
hear a contact in Alabama but not well enough for a chat. On forty I had a
long chat with someone I met after an extended CQ.
As you will notice there is a change in net time. The second net will go
back to where it was last year. Now that the sun has come back further north I
can give myself a break. I was delaying dinner by having the nets so close
together. This was not a good thing but it was necessary during the winter
months. Now I can eat at my regular time and feel better for the second net.
Last week I had a splitting headache by the time I was done. Much of it was
caused by low blood sugar. Snacks just don't seem to relieve the problem. Now
that the sun sets later I can move the net back to where it was. Now to go fix
the website ;) There, done!
