Been trying out a pc type headset with boom mike and a 3.5mm stereo plug on the mike lead. Having what I like to think of as a logical mind(?), I made up a 3.5mm stereo to mono adapter to plug into the socket on the rear of the K3 which is labeled 'mono'. This 'sort of' worked but kept losing the connection intermittently. The adapter plug did seem to be a bit of a loose fit which caused me have a closer look at the KIO3 analogue board and I noticed that the mono mike socket appeared to be a stereo type with presumably, just the tip connected.
Anyhow I just plugged the stereo plug from the boom mike straight into the 'mono' socket and it works fine, better fit too. Can't find any mention of this in the manual so wondering if the use of a stereo plug is the recommended way...? 73, Stewart Rolfe, GW0ETF (K3 145) PS. The VOX on the K3 is a joy to use..... _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [email protected] You must be a subscriber to post to the list.
