I would wire it low-Z if there's a choice, but if high-Z is the only 
option, try it anyway, and try playing with TXEQ if it's muddy. It's 
a dynamic mic, so there's no distortion created by loading.  The 
most that COULD happen is only some some frequency response change, 
and the K3 has enough built-in EQ to fix a lot of response change. 

"Muddy, muffled" sounds like high end rolloff, which would be caused 
by capacitive loading.
