Lionel, Don't worry the cable works perfect, I've received my K3 two weeks ago with the KUSB option. Only to go to the Electraft website and download the usb utility depending your driver that's all. 73's Philippe A65BI / F5LTB

Phil The KUSB is just a USB to RS-232. They nailed me for $40 for one because I thought it was a special one for the K3. It didn't work. I later found one for under $10 that works fine. Don't buy it. Elecraft have some wonderful products and accessories.
