Jim, I am using essentially the same setup. I got a lot of help from Chen (W7AY) the author of CocoaModem.
I also had a problem of no output and it turned out to be that I was using the default jumper settings on the Signalink and you need to boost the output by setting jumper 3 (JP3). Otherwise, the audio level is too low to drive the K3. So, if you have not done that then I suggest you give it a try. From Chen's advice, I have my audio level to about 0.25 volts RMS (I think that is right, I am going from memory)...along with the Signalink TX level of about 1 oclock this gives the recommended 4 (to 5) bars on the K3 ALC bar graph.
