Short proof of strategic equivalence of Cardinal Ratings and Approval:

The set of possible CR ballot markings is an hypercube whose dimension is
the number of candidates on the ballot.

If the objective function is linear (say, expected utility) the maximum
will be realized at a corner of the hypercube.
