Hey all, I just wanted to add a quick note about recent spam on this list. Several others, including Laszlo Pandy and Evan Czaplicki have been removing spam threads, and also helpfully responded when I contacted the "list owners". I was worried we were being overrun by spam without moderators fighting it, but that is not the case. Thanks for your vigilance.
I'm wondering if there is anything we can do to step up the fight. There are two options I know of on google groups that can help, but they do appear a little heavy-handed to newcomers: 1. require new members to be approved by a moderator 2. require messages by new members to be approved by a moderator This list has 2,652 members. I think its size is making it become a target for spammers. Both options, however, add a burden to moderators. Are there other options?
