Sounds like the kind of person who wouldn't switch Mail clients mid-roject 
either.


Anyway everyone: it'll support the latest OS release that's out publicly when 
we release. If it happens to be 10.7, it'll be 10.7. Some people won't be able 
to use it right then, but they will a few months after. No big deal. It's just 
an email client.

It's hard to justify investing any programmer time in supporting older OS 
releases: every minute spent on legacy support is a minute not spent on the 
feature set. Add to it that legacy user base will only dwindle. And there's not 
even a user base to speak of yet.

The realities for an existing released product and for a commercial product are 
different. You may want to support the same releases as your previous version. 
Some times the extra money you can get by selling to those on 10.5 makes it 
worth the programmer investment. But that is not the case here. 

But don't worry, 10.6 will be legacy in no time.
