The problem does not appear to step from inside Emailer. I was able to
setup an account using a .us address (using exactly the address above as
a matter of fact), and Emailer sent it just fine.
That means the error is originating on the SMTP server. Most likely,
either it won't allow the .US TLD, or it may be a crappy rejection error
on anti-spam tactics (ie: the address is not a valid from address for
that SMTP server).
Have the person try collecting their email right before attempting to
send it. If that doesn't work, they should check and see if the SMTP
server needs authentication or not.
Also, have him tell you exactly what is entered in his Email Account and
Email Address fields for this account setup. And he may want to delete
the entry (click into the field, do Command-A to hilite the entire field,
then hit the Delete key). The actual error reported looks a little
suspect, as it looks like it is complaining that his address can't follow
some other string ("ral" is listed, but that might have been chopped
during the collection of the error). He may have extra stuff listed in
the address (such as if he cut and paste and collected a carriage return
by accident, it might not appear in the field unless he hits the up or
down arrow).
So my two semi-educated guesses are. 1: extra junk is in the field that
he doesn't notice... this will be fixed by doing the
select-all/delete/retype. or 2: the SMTP server is giving a crappy
message saying he isn't authorized to send email... this has a few ways
of fixing, but we need more info to figure out the best method.
