Bingo! >>Be aware that there is a serious bug in Baton Mail that prevents you from >>sending attachments of any great size. > >What size? I send lots of attachments. Er.. um... <cough>... I really can't say for sure. It has to do with how fast your connection is, and how much RAM you assign to Baton Mail. A quick idea, I have a 144k DSL connection at home. Giving Baton Mail 10MB of ram, I can send roughly a 1.5mb attachment safely. I hate to say it but, your best bet is to try it and see what happens. However, when it fails, it is VERY nasty... it will totally lock up your computer, forcing you to do a forced reboot. I tried making it nice and give an error and drop the connection, but the programming environment can't access the area of the problem to know it is about to go sour (and because of that lack of access, is why I can't fix it in its current language). If you tell me your connection speed (I assume 33.6 or 56k), I can try to do some testing this weekend and give you an idea... or hopefully, someone else has already done this and knows what attachment sizes need how much ram to keep from crashing. >Also, I'm already doing a hack (thanks to Helder) to accommodate my 3 >e-mail addresses, so that I can send mail through my main STMP address >while still showing the alternate From address. I have 2 settings files >for each of my alternate addresses, one that gets the mail (using the POP >address of the alternate) and one that sends it (using the POP address of >the main ISP). > >Will this stay the same with Baton mail, or will I need to reconfigure >that within Baton mail or other? Um... its been a long day, and something about your description above just isn't clicking. Worst case, Baton Mail should have no impact on your Emailer setup (any accounts you want to send thru Baton Mail would simply have the SMTP server changed to Localhost). It is also possible Baton Mail can simplify your setup by allowing you to reduce the number of redundant account settings. -chris <http://www.mythtech.net> ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe send a mail message with a SUBJECT line of "unsubscribe" to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> or <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
