It's public that the superb Spell Catcher (www.casadyg.com) is being moved to OS X. It's in beta testing now. If you are in OS 9 and aren't using Spell Catcher, you should buy it; it's darn near a perfect piece of software. If you are looking for a global - i.e., available as a service in all OS X applications - spell checker, wait a bit for Spell Catcher for OS X. Incidentally, it's the same programmer, Evan Gross, writing the conversion as wrote the OS 9 (and earlier) versions. So you can count on continuity of the feature set. He's also a nice guy.
