I think DiskWarrior simply keeps everything running better on one's computer, especially Emailer. To date I've never had any sort of file issue with Emailer (knock wood!)
I thought I'd relate a recent experience: My Mac had been running just fine, but it also had been at least a week since I'd bothered to run DiskWarrior, so I ran it. Usually, nothing shows up on the generated report, but this time I was shocked to see what was in fact wrong with my "perfectly running" Mac! For those of you who do not have DW, I'm going to copy the report below to show the sort of things which DiskWarrior fixes that one doesn't even realize are wrong...yet! Cheers! Beginning of report (if you're not interested, just skip the following): DiskWarrior has successfully built a new optimized directory for the disk named "9600 HFS+." The new directory is ready to replace the original directory. Notes: The original directory is damaged and it was necessary to scavenge the directory to find file and folder data. Some files that had been lost or thrown away may have been recovered. Repaired Directory Structure: All errors in the directory structure such as tree depth, header node, map nodes, node size, node counts, node links, indexes and more have been repaired. The directory structure holds the directory data for files and folders. These repairs prevent the loss of access to some or all files and folders on the disk and ensure that a disk appears on the desktop. Repaired Flags of these Files: Name: "Untitled150139" Location: "9600 HFS+:Rescued Items:" Flags are true/false settings that indicate attributes of a file such as whether the file is locked. These repairs ensure proper access to these files. Repaired Alias Flags of these Files: Name: "Untitled150139" Location: "9600 HFS+:Rescued Items:" Every file has a flag that indicates whether or not it has an alias.
