All of a sudden about a week ago my access number stopped working. Then suddenly my separate ISP number stopped working, it would dial up, go through its connection scripts but not actually be connected. . I powered up AOL to try to get more access numbers (and my mail) and it gives that message about changing your ISP configuration but that it will change them back when you exit. I ended up having to go to the local AppleStore (thank God we have them) and spent some time with the Mac Genius. He looked at my configurations and AOL had done something weird to them. He fixed them so my ISP dialup (Earthlink) works again, but now I access my AOL mail via my ISP instead of through AOLs numbers (I'm on an 500 mhz iBook, 384 MB, running 9.2.2). Since I'm now dialing up to AOL, I'm thinking about jumping to OS X, which is also loaded on my machine. If I've been paying attention, everyone on this list using OS X and CE 2.3 uses it either with an ISP (which I think you all say works) or with a DSL connection.
As a side note, Genius also told me that my iBook battery, after charging for days, dies in about 4 minutes because the iBook thinks it's fully charged and stops actually charging it, even though it's drained. He told me there's a software fix on Apple's support site but I couldn't find it. Anyone heard of this iBook battery flaw? As another side note, I think it was on News.com that they said AOL is beta testing letting other email packages (besides CE) access their network starting in '03.
