For myself, I continue to use Emailer for a few reasons, including:
1) Plaintext cannot carry viruses (well, except for M$ docs/attachments
with macros, but that's why I don't use much of any M$ products - M$
macros don't work under AppleWorks!)
2) Twenty (customizable and different) color-coded categories I can use
in sorting and visually telling how important that message is (as well as
who it's from, in some cases) - kind of like individualized phone rings
when it's that special person!
3) Already have several Applescripts, which (alone or in combination with
Mail Actions) can do my sorting for me, as well as check for probable
spam and route it to the trash.
4) I have most of the keystroke shortcuts memorized (okay, those I use a
lot I do).
5) My personal bias against Micro$oft products (I'll admit it).
6) It ain't broke and my ISP hasn't resorted to authenticated logins for
getting/sending e-mail (yet) (Earthlink, BTW).
Which doesn't mean that eventually I will need/have to switch from
Emailer, but for now the pluses far outweigh the minuses of Emailer (for
me).

"DOS Computers manufactured by companies such as IBM, Compaq, Tandy,
and millions of others are by far the most popular, with about
70 million machines in use worldwide. Macintosh fans, on the other
hand, may note that cockroaches are far more numerous than humans,
and that numbers alone do not denote a higher life form."
