I checked File Exchange, where the first of the three "doc" PC extensions listed is "mapped" for (if that is the lingo?) AppleWorks, file type "BLLN" (balloon). File exchange is actually defaulted to creat such nonsense! Could I not change that File Type, somehow, to word processing?

I received another document from the same company a week prior, that also had no 3 letter extension. This one however showed up with the empty white rectangle that .doc documents usually show up in (I think).
