There are assorted web sites out there that will tell you extensions. My guess is it probably uses the last one added. I generally strip it down to only one choice so it doesn't have to decide. However, doing things like setting .doc (MS Word document) to map to an AppleWorks document might not be such a good idea. The problem is, AppleWorks word processing documents are a different file format than MS Word documents. This 3 letter mapping only sets the type/creator code. If you map it to something that it isn't, you risk having it not open properly. What may happen is you double click it AppleWorks launches, and attempts to open it as an AppleWorks word processing document, which it can't do because it isn't the right file format. What may be a better idea is map it to an MS Word doc format, and then in the File Translation section (next tab over in the File Exchange control panel), tell it that MS Word docs are to be opened by AppleWorks.
