This was in response to asking why every so often my printer dumped out a page with all the text jammed into the first line. (as it turned out, the problem had nothing to do with the drivers, but rather with the fact that my ethernet cable draped across the back of a mini-fridge, and every time the compressor kicked on during a print job, it killed the data stream.
