In Digest V103 #181 the person identified as Gregg Schmidt,

Our G3 iMac came with 9.0.4 loaded, the G4 with 9.1, and the used
clamshell iBook we recently acquired with 9.0. They've all been upgraded
to 9.2.2, run fine individually, and coexist with no problems on an
Ethernet network. I'd suggest -- assuming you have plenty of RAM
installed (all our Macs are maxxed out) Installing 9.2 and then applying
the 9.2.1 and 9.2.2 updates.

I found it handy to use Marc Moini's "Clean-Install Assistant" (free for
individual use). The latest version can be downloaded from <
www.marcmoini.com>.
