I just switched from 8.6 to 9.2.2 and there has been a noticeable speed 
up in certain aspects of my G3/266. I can't prove that Web browsing is 
faster, but it certainly feels that way. Even more enjoyable is the great 
improvement in stability of the system; I can leave it on for days 
without having to reboot. With 8.6, I inevitably had to reboot after a 
day or two, as IE always seemed to freeze on me after that period of 
time. (Not sure if it matters, but I have been running with Virtual 
Memory turned off, both with 8.6 and 9.2.2.)
