It would be relatively easy to ignore the error message since the mail is actually sending. However, about the same time this started happening my son couldn't send email at all from his eMac using Apple's Mail app. Apparently SBC changed the SMTP server as part of their SBC/Yahoo service and they now require smtp authentication. (As an aside I thought it kind of cool that the venerable Claris Emailer could still send messages - albeit with an error message - while the Apple Mail app couldn't.) Anyway, I quickly downloaded Baton Mail and installed it and was once again sending mail without the annoying error message. Now for a new wrinkle. I am going to start using my son's eMac for everyday use and wanted to use Emailer of course. I had been happily running Emailer in Classic on my PM8500 without issue - except for general slowness. The eMac only boots in OS X so I tried running Emailer and Baton Mail from an external firewire drive. Emailer will not send mail and I suspect it is due to Baton Mail's use of the TCP/IP Control Panel which is non existent on the eMac. Is there a way I can make this work?
