>Can this be true, that there are professionals, ITs who do not care for >Macs. How do I answer this? Where is there a comparison of technical >information I can submit?
There are always groups of people that dislike one platform, regardless of which platform. For every "professional" your friend can point out that hates Macs, I can find one that loves them and hates Windows, and I can also find an equal number that hate both and swear by Linux, as well as ones that hate all 3 and swear by some other OS. As for a comparison between the Mac and Windows, its been done to death. There is TONS of information online that does a comparison between the two. Its totally irrelivant to point the stuff out to your friend. If they made a blanket statement like they did about no professionals who care for the Mac, then any "facts" you show them will be ignored anyway. The best way to deal with people like them is to just let the matter drop. You won't convince them of anything. And you can sleep at night knowing that you don't waste half your day fighting your way thru the idiocy of MS Bloatware like they do. Oh, and to ease your mind, I guess all the people who work in desktop publishing, and the movie and TV industry, who all swear by Macs, are not "professionals". And I suppose the 20 million Macs that are estimated to be in service right now are all owned by home users, not a single one by a "professional"... and I guess Virgina Tech's PowerMac G5 based Supercomputer, which was ranked the 3rd fastest in the world, and is currently undergoing an overhaul to be replaced with Apple's XServe G5 Mac... well I guess it, and its multimillion dollar budget, wasn't done by IT people, it must have been done by the theater department or something, after all, your friend said that No IT people care for the Mac. That would also include the guys over at NASA's JPL that appear to love the Mac, but then they aren't IT people, they are rocket scientists. :-) (And if you REALLY want to tick off your friend, point out to her that the Mac Business Unit at Microsoft is the only software division of MS to have made a profit in the last few years... that should get her goat!) -chris <http://www.mythtech.net> ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe send a mail message with a SUBJECT line of "unsubscribe" to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> or <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
