The problem with doing it at the Emailer level (or at any client level), you still have to download the spam. That can be annoying in its own right. Think about it. Would you rather download 200 messages to have all but 3 go right into your trash, or would you rather just download the 3 valid messages? If you have user definable ways to filter your email at the server level, its always better to do it there so you have less junk to download for no reason. Alas, when you do block at the server, you run a higher risk of false positives causing a problem. Be it because of a bounce like what happened here, or because you appear to not exist to someone who you might really want to talk to. Or worse, you appear to be blocking them, which most people will assume on the first thought is for a personal reason. Imagine what would happen if a potential (or worse EXISTING) business client emails you, and finds that you have blocked their email. Hopefully they will be understanding enough to contact you, but I know many of my clients will just be offended and do their business elsewhere. So there is always a trade off between no filtering, and filtering at the server level or at the client level. It all boils down to how important your email is to you. -chris <http://www.mythtech.net> ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe send a mail message with a SUBJECT line of "unsubscribe" to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> or <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
