Eric,

I'm going to come out of the closet and admit that I already migrated to Mail, but I still subscribe to this list for old time's sake and as a hedge against the great unknown future.

I have no knowledge at all of Entourage, so I'll just give you a very unsophisticated user's impression of Mail.

The first big deal was that it successfully imported all of my Emailer files. I would probably have turned back if this had not been so. I was using Panther when I made this move, and have now gone to Tiger and have been delighted to see that all the old Emailer stuff is still there.

I don't find the "look and feel" of Mail to be equal to that of Emailer, but I can live with it rather than launch Classic every time I open Emailer. Also, for the short time that I stayed with Emailer after going to Panther, I was unable to find a way to make it appear in anything but a tiny font that I found too challenging for my old eyes. There may well be a way to fix that, but I asked this list for a solution and got no replies, and that was the final straw that made me move on.

I should add that I don't appear to have ever used some features of Emailer that some folks on this list seem to regard as vital. But since I often didn't even understand what they were talking about, and when I did understand knew that it wasn't something important to me, I just had to go with what suited me. For instance, I have no need for all the scripts that people mention here . My Email life is just not as complicated as theirs, probably because I'm not using it to support a business. I create folders, file posts in them as appropriate, create address groups, and perform other simple tasks that are easily done in Mail. And I'm not willing to try to find ways to filter out every last piece of spam when my ISP's spam blocker seems to get most of them and its easy enough for me to delete what remains. I only mention these things to ensure that you know my priorities and can tell if they differ from yours.

I now defer to the people who may well be able to better answer the question in a way more appropriate to your needs.
