I don't get this complaint about classic apps. It seems to be the thing everyone hates about "having that one last classic app". They don't like waiting for Classic to start up. But why are you waiting at all? Go to the Classic Pref, tell it to start up when you log on. Then just leave Classic running. Unless you are a person that logs out on a regular basis, you should rarely if ever have to wait for Classic to start. If you are shutting off your computer when you aren't using it... stop... use the Energy Pref to tell it to go to sleep instead. It will use nearly the same amount of power as it does when it is off (yes, your Mac uses power when turned off). For those of us that have been having problems with Classic apps after the Mac has been asleep... try turning off Classic's ability to sleep (also in the Classic Pref). I did that about a week or so ago, and I haven't had a problem with Classic hanging since (knock on wood). This will chew up a little more ram, but ram is cheap, toss some extra in your Mac... OS X will thank you. Honestly, once you have Classic stable, and learn to leave it running all the time, and are down to just one or two apps... it really becomes totally transparent to the use of the Mac... and there becomes little to no reason to ditch a perfectly good application. -chris <http://www.mythtech.net> ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe send a mail message with a SUBJECT line of "unsubscribe" to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> or <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
