That depends. If the corruption is minor, it is possible other mail 
clients can work past it, but Emailer chokes.

Best of my knowledege, Emailer does all the decoding of attachments 
internally and doesn't actually call the stuffit engine except for 
compressing and decompressing. Encoding and Decoding are done with 
Emailer code, and that code could be buggy and/or more sensitive to 
things not being 100% spot on correct (remember, Emailer suffers/suffered 
from an excessive MIME headers problems from AOL people constantly 
forwarding messages without trimming them... yet no other client seemed 
to be bothered by the same email)
