FWIW I stop Classic before I go to bed and I restart it in the morning. I leave OSX running and only reboot it once a fortnight or so. Experience has shown that this eliminates 99% of problems that I used to have with emailer (and other apps). Classic starts up in about 20 seconds so it's really no imposition. The only problems I can't fix are: Safari occasionally crashes if Emailer tries to download messages at a (presumably) critical moment. But Safari is quite prone to crashing without emailer's help! Duplicate messages appear in my inbox quite frequently. I simply delete them. This is a recognised "foible" of running emailer in Tiger Classic and I've learned to live with it.
