This is so true ! Drives are getting cheaper and worse. Heavy SCSI drives were more reliable like 5 years ago than many IDE drives today. If you have a Mac that can have 2 disks inside (and many Mac's can), then buy yourself just an extra drive. Because you increase your reliability by an enormous amount, if you just use TWO drives, because the statistical chance that both drives will break within the same couple of hours is extremely low. In the absence of shocking factors such as lightning, 747 aircraft, or going to the ground floor by elevator while sending your PC ahead via the window. Using two drives can be done by either enabling mirroring (smart but bit technical), or by just dragging/duplicating your entire user folder, once in a while to the other drive. It will copy over 'bloody fast' while you put on your piyamas and count your sheep. Preferably copy BEFORE switching off, and so it's best not to say "I'll switch off, go to sleep now, and make that copy first thing in the morning". --- Just Marc - [EMAIL PROTECTED] - ICQ 3888426 ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe send a mail message with a SUBJECT line of "unsubscribe" to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> or <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
