I was terrified.
I had not typed in the command up front that told it to restart after
it did its thing, so there I was unable to figure out a way to get
out of single user mode and reboot. I finally just held down the
power button to shut down, and then held my breath when I restarted,
but everything seems to be OK.
I'm definitely not a power user who likes to get under the hood, so
working outside the box like that makes me very nervous.
And its ironic that earlier operating systems almost forced me to get
under the hood and learn to deal with things in the system folder,
but OSX has permitted to generally blunder along, oblivious to all that.
