no too sure on this matter, as realy a M00 in the code on a tool change,
when machine stops, press abort, come down measure tool or call sub what
ever..
then do a run from tool pickup or just after, you already have all start
codes ready to go and points to start from.. i dont see how a Mcode
would help here.. unless i am missing something?

here is what we can do a on a fanuc machine, only becasue we have a
relative offset that we can zero any where and not effect any offsets etc..

say we are drilling holes in stringy material.. when we retract we wish
to stop it and clear..then go from where we was

we press feedhold, machine pasues.
we zero the relative on Z=0 this gives us a ref to come back to.
change to manual mode,
stop spindle
jog clear of the hole,
clear chips
start spindle (can be any speed as fanuc will have current speed and
feeds still set in mem)
jog back to where we set relative zero point.
change back to auto
unpause, away we go

the down full is u need always set relatives to zero or have other measn
of coming back to the same place or bad things will happen.
emc u cant do this so easy or at all, beacsue u can not change into MDI
or Manual from Auto mode paused
only if u abourt fully.

infact rereading your code layout it would solve the switch from auto to
manual/mdi mode i think.. so just need away to note positions properly.
id love it if EMC had easy to use relative offset for manual work u can
zero and use as like, and not change ur G54s etc..
