Unfortunately, I am clueless when it comes to how software packages are
normally installed and where the files go. I am sensing from your
comments above, that libmodbus 3 isn't and won't, in the foreseeable
future, have any presence in LinuxCNC unless it is installed separately
by the user. Any HAL components that use libmodbus 3 will also need to
be separately installed and configured. I guess this is okay. I just
wanted to know what to expect.
